They wished to make his findings more accessible to the ordinary person.
Carl Jung
Jung’s theories of psychological types explain normal differences between mentally healthy people.

The questionnaire that Briggs and Myers developed and refined over many years was a way to make Jung’s ideas available to as many people as possible.

Myers and Briggs had a desire to promote understanding between the 16 different psychological types and a depth of understanding for individuals.

The MBTI has evolved after 60 years of research and refinement to be the most widely used and trusted tool for understanding normal healthy personality types.

Its popularity has spread globally and it is available in many different languages.
